3 Creative Ways to Make Your Bedroom More Encouraging and Inviting

It’s been a long and exhausting day. By the time you arrive home, it’s getting late and you’re tired! You enter your bedroom to settle in with a cozy blanket and a few chapters of a good book.

You glance from wall to wall. They stare back at you with blankness. Truth be told, your room is anything but inviting.

As a young woman myself, I know that many of us would like a bedroom that we want to go into. There’s nothing like settling in from a long day and feeling at home in a cozy room.

Normally, I don’t write articles on decorating or homemaking. However, the way our bedroom looks actually effects the way we feel and act!

As Christians, we want to reflect Christ and His love. We can’t do that if we’re feeling down or careless. You’d be surprised at how much your home decorating effects our mood!

That’s why, today, we’re going to discover the key to a cozy room.

3 Creative Ways to Make Your Bedroom More Encouraging and Inviting
1. Hang up inspirational quotes

I love calligraphy, so I often look up inspirational quotes (or I come up with them myself), grab some pretty pens, and write them out in nice fonts. This is a super fun way to get creative and make your room encouraging.

If you’re not into calligraphy, you can always print out some good quotes and hang them up!

2. Write Bible Verses on your mirror

Pick out 2 or 3 of your favorite Bible verses and write them on your mirror! Be sure to use glass/window markers (you want to be sure it will wash off!).

If you struggle with body image, try some verses like Psalm 139:14 or 1 Peter 3:3,4. If you feel trapped in sin, pick out verses like 1 John 1:9. Whatever area you need encouragement in, look up Scripture verses that will help you!

3. Create a Little Interest Corner

Since I’m a writer, it’s nice to have a place where I can sit down and write to my heart’s content. Next to my bed, I have a desk. And, on that desk, I have a lamp, cute notebooks, pens/pencils, and my writing goals.

If you like to read, maybe get a comfy chair, a cute container for books, and a small table for glasses, pens, or hot chocolate. If you’re into photography, pick a corner of your room to hang up your favorite shots. If you like art, a desk like mine might be nice for you!

Having a little corner where we can focus on our interests or hobbies makes for a more concentrated and focused person. It’s also a great spot to spend time with God, without distractions.

Get ready to make your room more uplifting!

Let me know, in the comments, if you tried out any of these ideas! If you have ideas of your own, I’d love to hear them!
